Hotel Maiensee is located in the Austrian Alps and is an ideal base for skiing and snowboarding, as it is right next to the chairlift and the ski slope. The family business has grown with the cozy Tirolerstube, the open fireplace, from tradition as well as from the passion for the surrounding nature. In commission with Sibylle Schaschl and the Hotel Maiensee were curated for selected rooms, artworks by Hong Zeiss.
The Granite Drawing Series with black, condensed oil paint, wax and pigment eludes metaphorical or emotional associations, yet manifests the notions of time, material and process that characterize his work.
Das Hotel Maiensee liegt in den österreichischen Alpen und ist eine ideale Ausgangslage für SkifahreInnen und SnowboarderInnen, da es sich direkt neben dem Sessellift und an der Skipiste befindet. Der Familienbetrieb ist mit der gemütlichen Tirolerstube, dem offenem Kaminfeuer, aus Tradition sowie aus der Passion zur umliegenden Natur gewachsen.
In Auftrag mit Sibylle Schaschl und dem Hotel Maiensee wurden für ausgewählte Räume, Kunstwerke von Hong Zeiss kuratiert. Die Granite Drawing Series mit schwarzer, verdichteter Ölfarbe, Wachs und Pigment entzieht sich metaphorischen oder emotionalen Assoziationen und manifestiert dennoch die Zeit-, Material- und
Prozessvorstellungen, die seine Arbeit charakterisieren.
